Dobyns-Bennett Finalist In Metallica’s Marching Band Competition

The Dobyns-Bennett High School Marching Band was named a finalist in Metallica’s Marching Band Competition on Monday. The inaugural competition “challenges marching bands at all levels to craft the most exciting, unique, and impressive performances of Metallica’s music.” Each winning band will receive $15,000 in musical equipment for its program, furnished by Metallica. https://www.metallicamarchingband.com/

Johnson Named To Transportation Board

Bristol real estate developer Steve Johnson will serve on the new Transportation Modernization Board created by Gov. Lee’s new $3.3 billion highway construction plan. City councils and Democrats object to the board’s final decisions on the location of the new ‘choice lanes’ or toll roads. Current plans will not include any input from city planners.
