The Powerball jackpot continues to grow, but the Tennessee Lottery said one lucky person bought a ticket in Kingsport worth $150,000. The winning ticket was sold at the JB Market on Fort Henry Drive. The player matched four of the five white balls plus the Powerball. And, added the multiplier, tripling their initial 50k prize.
Kingsport police are investigating a fatal crash on West Stone Drive that left two people dead. The crash occured when a vehicle crossed the center line. Michael C. Braman, and Joplin Collins died in that crash.
Bobby Harshbarger, son of Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger, announced his campaign for incumbent state Sen. Jon Lundberg’s seat in Tennessee Senate District 4, representing Hawkins and Sullivan counties. Early voting will begin July 12 through July 27. The general election will be held Nov. 5.
