Emmett Road Fire

One person was flown to a burn unit following a structure fire in Sullivan County on Sunday afternoon. The East Sullivan County Fire Department was called out to the on Emmett Road off Highway 421. Responders found a small outbuilding fully engulfed in flames. The cause of the fire had not yet been determined.

A prescribed burn took place Sunday in Washington County, Tennessee near the Unicoi County line. The Carter County Board of Education has voted to close Little Milligan Elementary School. School leaders say budget concerns are the main reason for closing the school. One Dead Folowing Head On Crash

One person is dead following a crash on Interstate 26 Sunday night. According to the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD), officers were called to a two-vehicle crash near exit 17, when a vehicle heading the wrong way hit another vehicle head-on killing it’s driver. The person going the wrong way suffered serious injuries. .

Kingsport Suspension Rates Higher

Tennessee’s state report card reveals that Kingsport City Schools issues in-school and out-of-school suspensions (ISS and OSS) at nearly double the state average.
