The Hawkins County School District will be getting tougher on cell phones in class for the upcoming school year. A new policy passed by the school board says the cell phone rules will be “fully enforced, particularly at the high school level.” Students will no longer be allowed to use cell phones while school is in session, nbot even in between classesd. The district actually enacted a cell phone rule last year, but it was not heavily enforced. School begins in Hawkins County on August 5th.
