DeHart Due In Court For Shooting Sheriff’s Deputy

A grand jury has indicted Kenneth DeHart for the shooting and death of Blount County Sheriff’s Deputy Greg McCowan. DeHart was captured after a five-day search in Knoxville. His arraignment is set for Friday, April 5 on charges which include First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder, and Felon in the Possession of a Weapon. DeHart’s brother, Marcus Dehart, his girlfriend Carrie Matthews and Maurice Warren have all be charged with accessory after the fact.
