Johnson City and former police chief Karl Turner are asking a judge to disallow evidence from consultant, Eric Daigle’s investigation from being admitted at trial in Kat Dahl’s federal lawsuit against them. Dahl, a former special assistant U.S. attorney, sued the city and Turner stating she was fired in retaliation after she pressured the JCPD to more thoroughly investigate sexual assault allegations against Sean Williams. Lawyers for the city and Turner say that Johnson City’s voluntary decision to retain Daigle was a good deed and Dahl’s lawyers shouldn’t be able to retroactively use it against the city.
