Johnson City Man Heads To Prison For COVID-19 Fraud

A Johnson City man has been ordered to serve two years in prison for defrauding the federal COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan program. The US Attorney’s Office says 53 year old Ketan Ghutadaria pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft for the 2020 allegations. The EIDL program was meant to provide loans to small businesses that were experiencing substantial financial disruptions due to the pandemic. Ghutadaria admitted that he used someone else’s business information without their knowledge to apply for a 100-thousand dollar loan on behalf of a local trucking company.
