A test of the Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alerts system on Wednesday, Oct. 4, will also include cellphone users in Greene County. According to A FEMA press release the Oct. 4 test “is to ensure that the systems continue to be effective means of warning the public about emergencies, particularly those on the national level. FEMA will coordinate with the Federal Communications Commission in conducting the test.
