Plans are underway to renovate and also expand the Salvation Army shelter on Ashe Street in Johnson City.The project will make room for an additional 14 beds to support veterans who need shelter.The project will cost nearly $2 million and will be funded partially by a veteran’s grant from the VA.Construction is set to begin in the spring and will take about nine months to complete.
