A Johnson City native and U.S. Navy Fireman who was assigned to the USS Oklahoma and killed during the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor has been accounted for and will be returned home.According to a release from the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), Navy Fireman 1st Class Paul E. Saylor, of Johnson City, will be laid to rest in his hometown on August 20, 2021.Saylor was 21 at the time of his death.
