(TRI CITIES) – According to the Tennessee Department of Health, one new COVID-19 death and 119 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Northeast Tennessee. There are 858 active COVID-19 cases in the region, according to the TDH. This is an increase of 54 cases since Thursday. There have been 798,621 COVID-19 cases reported in Tennessee overall, according to numbers released by state health officials…an increase of 1,997 cases in the past 48 hours. A total of 11,709 COVID-19 deaths have been reported in the state. This is an increase of 28 deaths since Thursday. The TDH has changed the definition of active cases to remove people 14 days after a positive test.
