Sullivan County COmmissioners have approved the School Board’s proposed operating budget for the upcoming school year after months of debate and tension. Last week, the school board asked commissioenrs to reconsider after a previous budget was not approved. This time, the budget passed with 19 yes votes and one abstention. Four other commissioners were absent. The approved budget still calls for teacher and support staff pay raises, but no raises for administrators.
