A motorcyclist has died in a crash at Roan Mountain. Authorities shut down Highway 19E Saturday morning near State Route 143. The roadway was closed for several hours for the investigation. THP said a Mazda SUV was headed north on 19E when it attempted a left turn onto State Route 143 in front of an oncoming Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 57 year old Jeffrey Clark, who was killed. Police reports indicate the SUV was being driven by an 18 year old man from North Carolina who was unlicensed.
