A fisherman on Watauga River has drowned after a tragic accidwent on Monday in Carter County. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency says the 31 year old victim from Watauga and another male kayaker were fishing in separate kayaks. The man who survived was able to make it to shore and call 911. The incident happened about a half mile below Wilbur Dam. The Carter County Rescue and Carter COunty SHeriff’s Office helped in recovering the man’s body.
