Donzens gathered Tuesday night for a prayer vigil for a missing Carter County man named Victor Birchfield. Birchfield vanished on June 21st, one day after inmate Billy Fletcher at the Carter County Jail, walked away from a work detail. While Fletcher was captured in South Carolina, Birchfield remains missing, and police say they do believe the pair are connected. Birchfield’s car was found abandoned, also in South Carolina, near where Fletcher was captured. Unidentified remains found in the Butler community of Johnson County last weekend have yet to be positively identified.
