A recent hgead count of Kingsport’s homeless population shows a whopping 68 percent increase in unhoused individuals. That’s according to the newest Point-In-Time count. The survey reports 172 homeless people this year, compared to 104 in 2023. IN all of Sullivan County, the count was 292… a 30 percent increase from last year’s total of 225. Out of the 172 people in kingsport who were homeless, 127 of those were consindered “on the street.” 45 more were living in shelters.
