Bays Mountain Park has been awarded 75-thousand dollars to make the Farmstead Museum accessible with the federal Americans With Disabilities law. The park’s commission and Friends of Bays have also raised about 50-thousand dollars on their own for improvements at the park. Bays was chosen out of more than 170 applications to the Tennessee State Museum grant program. Plans call for a new handicapped restroom and a wheelchair lift. No word on when the renovations might begin.
