The Watauga Post 49 of The American Legion in Elizabethton has its first female commander. Paulette Baldwin replaced outgoing commander Kelly Greene Sr. In her acceptance speech, Baldwin said she is deeply grateful for the opporunity and has many ideas to help grow membership. Baldwin is a NAVY veteran who enlisted in 1974. The post has 174 current members, which Baldwin says she wants to grow to 225 by the end of her term.
