The Hawkins County Schol District has settled a case alleging that it was deliberately indifferent to known race-based harassment in its schools. The agreement calls for the schol district to spend the next three years under the nose of federal regulators. The US Department of Justice investigated 16 reports of alleged race-based bullying and harassment and/or violence at Church Hill Middle School. Onme family even filed a federal civil rights lawsuit.
