Some Sullivan County residents are raising concerns over a proposed quarry development. A plan calls for the rezoning of about 90 acres of land off Sullivan Gardens Parkway for what’s being called the Horse Creek Quarry. Area neighbors say the indistrial development will plunge their property values and cause dangerous traffic conditions from all the big trucks going in and out. Additoionally, a K-through-8 school is only about a mile away, and some say the dust from the quarry would pose significant health hazards.
