It took 11 hours for fire departments in Greene County to put out a fire at AmeriScrap Foundry which is formerly the Greeneville Iron and Metals. the fire was in a pile of appliances and other items that had yet to be sorted into metal and other components. Reports are more than 1 million gallons of water was used to battle the debris fire.
