A massive fire in Greene County over the weekend. The flames broke out at the AmeriScrap business on Old Stage Road around 1am on Saturday. Emergency crews remained at the scene more than 12 hours later. Assistant Tusculum Fire Chief Nathan Hensely said crews poured more than a million gallons of water on the fire at the scrap yard. A total of ten area departments responded. So far, the cause of the fire is not yet known. Hensley thanked the Greeneville Water Commission formaking the pumping seamless.
