The SUllivan County Sheriff’s Office has honored 13 fallen officers and their families with a memorial service. The ceremony on Friday evening to mark National Police Week. Families of the officers said they appreciated the county keeping the memories of their loved ones – alive. The earliest law enforcement officer to die in the line of duty in Sullivan County was Special Deputy Lee Eldreth on Christmas Day, 1907. The most recent law enforcement death was Sergeant Joshua Wayne Stewart in September of 2021.
