A 2-year-old was seriously injured after being struck with a lawnmower Thursday,in Carter County. The sheriff’s office reports deputies and emergency medical personnel were called to a home on Gap Creek Road in Hampton. The child had suffered a “serious injury to their right leg and was flown to Niswonger Children’s Hospital for treatment. The lawnmower got stuck on a swing set and when the driver backed up, the child was hit.
