Carter County Jail Inspection

The Carter County Jail has passed its annual sytate inspection, with no deficinecies found for the second year in a row. Sherriff Mike Fraley says the annual inspection is conducted by the Tennessee Corrections institute and is done on a surprise without notification. In 2022, the jail failed it’s initial inspection due to safety concerns and a staffing shortage. Ever since then, the jail has passed the inspection with flying colors.
