Most area schools will either close or dismiss early on Monday for the total solar eclipse. Bristol, Virginia Schools will remain in session all day, though. The district has purchased eclipse glasses for all students and staff. Johnson City Schools will also remain in session wth no changes. Our area of Tennessee can expect to have nearly 90 percent of the sun’s corona covered by the moon’s shadow. The eclipse will begin just before 2pm local time.
