A state lawmaker is calling for the resignationo f Ballad Health CEO Alan Levine, one month after a tense exchange between Levine and State Representative David Hawk. Additionally, Hawk accused Levine of being a bully to healthcare professionals and employees. The demand comes in a letter that Hawk wrote to ETSU president Brian Noland, who is a Ballad board of director. Hawk claims Levine complained to him about comments he made about Ballad in the media. However, another state lawmaker who witnessed the exchange has publicly stated that Hawk’s claims that Levine put his hands on him – are false. The trouble comes amid discussion of a bill introduced in last year’s legislature that would repeal the law that created Ballad Health in the first place.
