JC Planners Grapple With Defining “Venue” For Zoning Classification

The Johnson City Planning Commission is grappling with how to define the term “venue,” as they look to amend the city’s ordinance on event venues. The agenda for Tuesday’s planning commission meeting said the board would be discussing allowing event venues in A1 and B3 zoning classifications… something the Washington County Regional Planning Commission has recommended for approval. One proposed change would define a venue as being larger than 2.5 acres, accomodating no more than 75 guests, and having no concerts.
