Eastman Chemical Company announced Thursday that its new molecular recycling facility in Kingsport is now operational. The company said the facility had achieved on-spec initial production and was generating revenue. The facility breaks down landfill-bound plastic waste into molecular building blocks that can be reassembled to make virgin-quality material, according to Eastman.
