Local attorneys are recommending that criminal charges against former Johnson City businessman Sean Williams – be tried separately. The recommendation comes form both prosecutors and Williams’ own defense lawyers. The judge had previously proposed combining Williams’ escape charges and his child porn case into one trial. Williams’ defense team says the alleged crimes weren’t part of the same act or scheme and should be kept separate. Judge Ronnie Greer is expected to make a ruling at a later date.
