With Worldwide Impact

(JOHNSON CITY) – More than 100 volunteers in Johnson City come together…to pack meals…to help people both around the world…and around the block.
It’s the organization “Kids for Hunger”…and they aim to provide nutritious meals for impoverished kids and families all around the globe, they say. Each box the crew packs…contains around 215 meals.
In the end…they put together…over 100 thousand of them. They say…most of the food will be taken abroad…to places…such as Haiti, the Dominican Republic…and Guatemala. But they add…a healthy share stays here for the local community, too.
What’s in them?…some rice, beans, spices and soy protein…which organizers say…provides three times more nutrition, than regular beef.
