(BLOUNTVILLE) – In Blountville…former Sullivan Central basketball head coach, Dickie Warren has died at the age of 89.
For 43 years, Warren coached boys’ basketball at Sullivan High School and Sullivan Central High…winning 922 games during his career. He was inducted into the state Hall of Fame in 1995. Today…he is ranked 5th for most wins.
While much of his recognition comes from his time on the court, his former players and fellow coaches overwhelmingly say…he was more than just a coach, to them…more like a father figure. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
