Tourism in Tennessee is looking way up, generating $29 billion in direct visitor spending, with newly released data showing 141 million visitors came to the state in 2022.The Tennessee Department of Tourist Development released the information at the industry’s annual Governor’s Conference in Knoxville, and celebrated growth across all 95 Tennessee counties.Frank Lett, president of Visit Kingsport says it’s affordable and safe and it’s why people are flocking to Sullivan County.Data shows tourism in the county generated nearly $330 million in domestic visitor spending, a 9-percent increase from 2021.
