Affectionately called ribeye in the sky the Sandhill Crane Quota Hunmt is now open. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has announced the application period for the 2023 Statewide Hunt is open through Sept. 20.This is the tenth year Tennessee hunters have been allowed to harvest a limited number of sandhill cranes – also known as “Ribeye in the Sky” since they make such excellent table fare.The sandhill crane hunting season is Dec. 2 – Jan 30, 2024, except in the southeast zone.
