The First Tennessee Development District has announced that all eight counties in the development district, representing 28 organizations in east Tennessee, have been awarded Community Development Block Grants to address food insecurity. All totaled, these grants add up to $3,097,973 and will be used to purchase supplies and equipment to expand capacity to distribute food to low-income communities and populations.Greene County was awarded $330,638 in grant funding out of the $3.1 million total.
