All in the name of safety downtown Bristol looks a bit different. A 50-foot-tall Norway Spruce that has been used as the city’s Christmas Tree was cut down Thursday morning. The tree stood outside the Bristol Hotel, across from Cumberland Square Park.Experts had determined the tree was diseased. Officials say te smaller tree located on the same lot will be used as the city Christmas Tree moving forward. A new tree is also planned to be planted where the old tree was.
