It’s going to take even longer for a long-awaited highway project in Elizabethton now that a discovery underground is detected. Construction on the four-laned section of Elk Avenue has been going on for nearly three years. Now there’s no clear date for when it could be finished. While excavating along the route, they discovered the sidewalk is actually the top of a storm drain pipe.
