Funny money is being circulated according to the Greeneville police and sheriff’s deputies reporting a rash of counterfeit currency being passed Sunday at local businesses.Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Quick Stop Market at 3685 Erwin Highway about a counterfeit $100 bill that was passed about 3:50 p.m. Sunday at the Afton store.The man who gave a clerk the fake $100 bill bought a $15 lottery ticket with it, a report said. The suspect and a woman drove away in a red Ford Flex sport utility vehicle.
