The new trash rate in Bristol, Virginia, is now known. On Tuesday evening, city council members unanimously approved a resolution to lower the trash collection rate to $48 a month.Last month, city council voted for a rate of $60 a month, up from the current fee of $33 a month. Bristol, VA mayor Neal Osborne says part of the way they were able to do it to raise the rate for gas tax and cigarette tax.
