It’s time for humans to be extra cautious since it’s the Wildlife Center of Virginia’s busiest, time of the year – “baby season.”Spokesperson Connor Gillespie said the team typically takes in between two to five injured animals a day. However, in the springtime – or “baby season” – the center could admit more than 50 patients in one day.The team generally sees an influx of cottontail rabbits, opossums, squirrels, white-tailed deer fawns, and baby birds populating the state this time of year. Officials say to watch your cats because they often prey on newborn life and that can cause iinfections for new wildlife.
