The Tennessee General Assembly passed the largest teacher salary increase in state history.The legislation would increase teachers’ base salary to $50,000 over the next three years which would put Tennessee in the top 10 states across the country when it comes to teacher pay.By comparison, the starting salary in Washington County, Virginia is $40,000. In Scott County, it’s a little over $41,000. And in Bristol, Virginia, it’s a just over $45,000.
