A regional rehabilitation center in Roan Mountain being operated by the non-profit Families Free is getting closer to opening its doors.Nine local counties have formed a partnership to open the Northeast Tennessee Regional Recovery Center.Carter County Mayor Patty Woodby said the facility, housed in the old Roan Mountain prison, is now being transformed to house those recovery patients hopefully by the end of May.
