A new transit bus garage in Kingsport is taking shape. Work on the Kingsport Area Transit Service, or KATS, garage started in 2022. When finished, the facility will hold 22 transit buses and vehicles. KATS Transit Manager, Chris Campbell, explained to news outlets crews are in the process of putting external features on the building, including garage doors.Campbell adds he estimates the new bus garage will be ready to open by the middle of spring.
