Known as the Transportation Modernization Act, Governor Bill Lee is laying out the groundwork to modernize Tennessee roads. He says there will be $3 billion to the Transportation Modernization Fund to alleviate urban congestion and fund rural road projects across the state with $300 million to expand the State Aid program for local road projects. The state of Tennessee is currently facing a $26 million backlog of projects, according to Gov. Lee. He said it’s putting the state behind and in turn, promoting a change in the way the state funds and builds roads.
