The Carter County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a warning to the public about scam phone calls occurring in the Tri-Cities area. Carter County officials say they have received reports of scam calls.The scam callers are telling people they failed to report for jury duty and there is a warrant for their arrestand to avoid being arrested there is a fee that can be paid. The Carter County Sheriff’s office says these calls are fake and the best way to handle them is hang up and call the sheriff’s office.
