Thanks to a grant a local manufacturing company Universal Fibers is piloting a new program to improve access to child care for its employees.The goal of the program is to help retain current employees and attract new workers. According to a spokesperson from the United Way of Southwest Virginia they’ve teamed up for the initiative. The United Way says it utilized a grant from GO Virginia to start the program, with three private foundations helping match employers’ commitment over the next two years.
