In addition to a sizeable donation to Sevier County Hospital in her hometown of Sevierville, Dolly Parton has just donated $1 million to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to help fund the fight against serious infectious diseases in children. The funds will be used for pediatric infectious disease research, the university said in a press release.
