There is substantial support for the renovation to Carter County’s Workforce Development Complex from the Tennessee Board of Regents.Carter County Mayor Patty Woodby said the board is recommending $40 million for the project. It must get approval from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission and the general assembly to be included in the state’s 2023-2024 budget.In April, commissioners unanimously approved a proposal from the board of regents to transfer ownership of the property to the state in return for Tennessee funding the renovation project.
