Former Eastman Chemist Sentenced

For stealing trade secrets to give to China a former Eastman chemist has been sentenced to 14 years in prison. The woman was convicted of taking secret data from multiple companies on how to make BPA-free lining for drink containers. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the woman planned to create a competing company in China using Chinese government grants. In addition to prison time, she must pay more than 11-thousand dollars in restitution and a 200-thousand dollar fine.
