Johnson City and BrightRidge will partner to bring new technology to Founders Park and King Commons.The city is planning to install “Smart City Poles,” that will offer technology that can monitor weather conditions in the parks to pedestrian traffic flow and can even offer Wi-fi.The poles will even be able to play holiday music, warn pedestrians of rising water levels and alert festival attendants in case of an emergency.The project is being made possible through a $335,000 grant to the city and BrightRidge from the TVA.
